Something just doesn't seem to fit. If you take an older muscle type car with CV carbs, like a GTO or such, and, just for the sake of argument to make it easy, let's say it has a V-8 with displacement of 320 cubes.(mine was 400). And that car weighs in at, what? 3500 lbs I think is close? Now, what kind of gas mileage did those babys get? Lets say 12 MPG? Let's go with 10 MPG...really bad. Looking at the above equation in comparison with our Savage, what can we assume? The Savage has 1/8 the displacement: 40 cubes. The Savage weighs less than 1/8 of the car which would be 437 lbs, I think the Savage is around 380... With these numbers, on the extreme bad side for the car, why shouldn't a person with a Savage expect, and actually get, around 80 or more miles per gallon???
